Born in Grottaglie in 1953, Antonio Annicchiarico belongs to a family of blacksmiths and ceramists. After his graduation in engineering in 1977 he abandons his academic qualification to finish his studies in architecture and ceramics. Till 1979 he restores and builds multifamily houses in Italy and abroad. In 1985 he takes part at the Venice Biennial Exhibition presenting his architectural project drawn-up completely in ceramics. From 1988 he permanently collaborates with “Teatro Valdoca”, Cesena theatrical group of Cesare Ronconi e Mariangela Gualtieri. In 1988 he runs the setting and stage designing of Roberto Benigni’s first film “Il piccolo diavolo”. He also collaborated with Accademia, Bardelli, Rapsel, Giorgetti, Artemide, Acerbis, Driade, Quattrifoglio, Gabbianelli. In 1996 he designs “La città della musica”, a mega discoteque for 40 000 people for the New Year night in Naples. In 1997 he presents “La casa nomade”, his last collection of interior decoration with furniture, carpets and tapestry in ceramics.He performed works in architecture, design and painting in Italy, Scotland, France, Marocco, Japan.
